Commercial Kitchens

When the new British Standard BS6173 came out in 2001, it became a requirement that all commercial kitchens using gas powered equipment where potentially fatal emissions of harmful gas and other waste gases are present, should have an effective system of removal, by the use of both extract and input fans. It is also a requirement that these fans have a means of positive proof of fan operation before the gas is allowed into the system.

The main gas valve must be electrically controlled from a controller, which confirms the operation of the fan or fans.

From this, we introduced the proven PM-icx range of gas ventilation interlock controllers, designed to meet these requirements in a packaged product with positive confirmation that the fan motors are running under load.

Next came the CaterSense gas interlock range which controls and monitors the fans AND offers an integrated solution in ONE unit.
